Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to invest some 250 million euro ($336.5 million) in Croatia this year, targeting mainly the tourism industry, regional trade, improving the competitiveness of Croatian companies and aiding their expansion abroad, local media reported.
Last year, the EBRD invest some 245 million euro in Croatia, and about the same amount is planned to be invested this year, business news portal Bankamagazine (www.bankamagazine.hr) quoted EBRD Secretary General Enzo Quattrociocche as telling a news conference in Zagreb on Tuesday.
Under its new strategy for Croatia for the period 2010-2013, the lender will attach higher priority to projects in the clean energy sector, Bankamagazine quoted the head of the Croatian EBRD office, Charlotte Ruhe, as saying.
The EBRD has so far invested over 2.2 billion euro in the Croatian economy in over 100 projects in the corporate, financial, infrastructure and energy sectors.
