Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTThe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is looking for a consultant to carry out the feasibility study for a solar project in the Tufail region of Lebanon.
The bank this week invited expressions of interest (EoI) with June 21 being the deadline for submissions.
The Tufail region has been deemed especially suitable for solar power generation due to the availability of 10 km-15 km of elevated flat land with high solar irradiation and its proximity to the Lebanese grid network and also to neighbouring countries. The American University of Beirut (AUB) has calculated that it would be possible to build between 300 MW and 500 MW of photovoltaic (PV) power plants in Tufail.
The consultant will have to produce a report covering the main legal, technical, commercial, environmental, and social aspects of a future solar project. The cost of the assignment, estimated to be EUR 125,000 (USD 139,500), will be covered through the EBRD’s Shareholder Special Fund. Work under the contract is expected to begin in June and take about nine months.
The assignee will be selected in a single stage open competitive process. Interested parties have to submit a Technical and Financial Proposal.
