EBRD to lend $200 mln to back energy efficiency projects in Turkey

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it will launch a $200 million (153.8 million euro) extension to its Turkish Sustainable Energy Finance Facility to meet growing demand for sustainable energy finance in the country.

The EBRD will provide financing to commercial banks in Turkey for on-lending to small and medium-sized enterprises for energy efficiency and small-scale renewable investments, the bank said in a statement on Friday.

The project is pending final review.

The Turkish Sustainable Energy Finance Facility, launched in 2010, consisted of $284.2 million senior unsecured loans.
