Ecotality chooses location for first electric car charging station in Washington

(SeeNews) – Mar 16, 2012 - US clean electric transportation and storage technology specialist Ecotality (NASDAQ:ECTY) said Thursday it had selected the location for its first electric car charging station in the Seattle area, the state of Washington.

The Blink DC Fast Charger system will be located at the South Lake Union Discovery Center and will be available for public use by this spring, Ecotality said in a statement. It is rated at 60 kW and allows electric vehicle users to recharge quickly and safely.

The selection of the location was made after taking into account various factors such as traffic patterns, popular places to visit in the vicinity, as well as availability of retail locations.

The charger will be installed as part of The EV Project, which is managed by Ecotality. The project envisages the installation of electric vehicles charging stations in 18 cities in six US states and the District of Columbia.
