French packaging group Albea agrees 12-MWp solar off-take deal
Sep 19, 2024 5:38 CESTDec 18, 2013 - France's anti-trust regulator yesterday said it will impose a fine of EUR 13.5 million (USD 18.6m) to local power utility EDF (EPA:EDF) for creating unfair competition on the solar power market.
The ruling upholds the interim measures taken in 2009 when the authority was alerted by French solar panel maker Solaire Direct. The manufacturer complained that EDF was abusing its dominant market position to get contracts for its renewable energy unit EDF Energies Nouvelles. At the time the watchdog prohibited the unit from using its parent's logo as well as its brand Bleu Ciel, while EDF's commercial department was ordered to stop highlighting its unit's renewable services.
