The project, located in Anglesey, North Wales, is currently under construction and is due to be completed later this year.

EDF Renewables UK’s chief executive Matthieu Hue said the project demonstrates the company’s ability to develop solar in the UK through innovative routes to market. According to Matt Nunn, director of EDF Business Solutions, corporate PPAs like this will play a big role in enabling Britain to achieve net zero.
The contract will see EDF work with NatWest’s current electricity supplier and any future suppliers to incorporate the solar farm’s generation into their portfolio. EDF Business Solutions will provide power balancing and shaping services.
“Having already reduced our direct own operational carbon footprint by 46% against a 2019 baseline, our renewable electricity consumption is currently 97% globally and we plan for this to power 100% of our direct own operations by 2025,” said James Close, director of climate change at NatWest Group.
