EDP Renovaveis buys Suntech PV panels for Romanian projects

EDP Renovaveis, the renewable power unit of Energias de Portugal, has signed a contract with Suntech Power Holdings for acquiring solar panels for photovoltaic projects in Romania, Suntech said on Monday.

Suntech Power Holdings, the world's largest producer of solar panels, said in a press release it will supply 39 megawatts of polycrystaline solar panels, which will power four new photovoltaic projects in Romania.

The price of the deal was not disclosed.

The Romanian projects will be connected to the grid between late 2012 and early 2013, Suntech added.
