EDPR expects the solar project, located in a former golf course, to be up and running in 2025.

With a net-zero target for 2050, Japan estimates it will have around 10 GW of onshore wind and 43 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) installed by 2030.

The Portuguese renewables company currently has more than 1.5 GWp of committed solar capacity in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, it noted.
