Elawan bags Google PPA for 37-MW solar project in Texas
Sep 19, 2024 13:49 CESTThe majority-owned renewables arm of EDP - Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with an unnamed multinational retailer which will be buying most of the output of a 180-MW solar park in Texas, the Portuguese utility announced today.
More specifically, EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) has agreed to sell to that company the electricity generated by a 162-MW portion of the plant over a period of 15 years.

The contracted project is expected to enter into operation in 2025. No further details were given.
The announcement notes that with the latest PPA, EDPR has secured around 55% of the targeted capacity additions of 17 GW for the period 2023-2026. Said target was unveiled in March 2023.
