The majority-owned renewables arm of EDP - Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) has recently implemented its third hybrid wind and solar power plant in Spain, achieving a total of 103.35 MW of capacity.

EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) currently operates the 28.75-MW Cruz de Hierro, the 28.2-MW Villacastin and the 46.4-MW Castillo de Garcimunoz parks, the parent company said today.

Earlier this year, EDP put into operation a 21-MWp solar park in Portugal, sharing the location with the 22.8-MW Sao Joao wind farm, thus creating its second hybrid facility at home.

EDP said it will continue to develop hybrid projects in Portugal and Spain, expecting to implement another 750 MW in similar projects in the coming years.

In addition to the Iberian Peninsula, the company has a hybrid asset in Poland producing up to 124.5 MW. Overall, EDP has already 0.3 GW in hybrid projects in Europe.
