Egnatia Romania completes 1.7 MW solar park

The Romanian unit of Greek company Egnatia said on Monday it has completed a 1.7 megawatt (MW) solar park in northwestern Romania owned by local company Casa de Investitii ALIANTA.

The solar park, situated in Lechinta village in the Bistrita-Nasaud county, was connected to the national electricity grid on August 17, Egnatia Romania, which is the engineering-procurement-construction contractor on the project, said in a statement.

Construction works lasted four weeks.

"The work volume which Egnatia Romania has to handle for the next six months regards the construction of several photovoltaic parks totaling up to now 28 MW," Egnatia Romania's general manager Thomas Melitsis said in the statement.

"Our estimations show that the Romanian market will become generous for the turn-key suppliers for photovoltaic projects for the next two years," he added.
