EC clears EUR-1.2bn Polish scheme to aid net-zero equipment
Sep 19, 2024 8:42 CEST(ADPnews) – May 9, 2011 - The European Investment Bank (EIB) said on Friday it is considering providing a EUR 120 million (USD 173m) loan to the Polaniec power plant in Poland for the construction of a biomass power unit.
The project concerns the replacement of a coal-fired boiler in the Polaniec plant with a new fluidised-bed boiler designed to combust 100% biomass. The existing steam turbine and generator will be refurbished and allow the production of around 200 MWe.
The total cost of the project is EUR 240 million.
