EIB mulls 38 mln euro loan for 20 MW Vranduk HPP project in Bosnia

SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), August 29 (SeeNews) – The European Investment Bank (EIB) said it is considering providing a 38 million euro ($51 million) loan to co-finance the conduction of a 20 megawatts (MW) Vranduk hydro power plant (HPP) in Bosnia.

The loan should be provided to Elektroprivreda BiH, the state-owned power utility of Bosnia’s Muslim-Croat Federation, the EIB said in a statement on Wednesday.

HPP Vranduk will be located on the stretch of the river Bosna between the towns of Zenica and Nemila.

The total cost of the project is estimated at 75 million euro.

The Muslim-Croat Federation is one of the two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
