EIB Mulls 50 Mln Euro Credit Line for Montenegrin SMEs

PODGORICA (Montenegro), December 19 (SeeNews) – The European Investment Bank (EIB) said it is considering lending 50 million euro ($65.1 million) to finance small and medium-sized projects in the fields of the knowledge economy, energy and environmental protection and tourism in Montenegro.

The projects will be carried out primarily by SMEs as well as by public sector authorities and entities of any size, the EIB said in a statement on it website last week.

The aim of the project, with a total cost of 100 million euro, is to give access to long-term funds at affordable interest rates primarily to SMEs as well as public sector authorities, the bank said.

The promoter of the project is the Investment and Development Fund of Montenegro.
