The European Investment Bank (EIB) expects to sign today a number of agreements for a total of EUR 800 million (USD 899.3m) in loans to finance climate action projects in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

The signing will take place during the European Union-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit of Heads of State and Government, according to a news release from last week.

EIB noted that among the projects eligible to receive such loans are initiatives and developments in the green hydrogen sector, electricity transmission network upgrades, renewable energy, energy efficiency and bio-economy schemes, as well as residential solar photovoltaic installations.
