Spain-based renewables company Elawan Energy SL said today it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with domestic telecoms group Cellnex, securing the latter as off-taker for 200 MW of wind and solar parks at home.

Elawan, a subsidiary of Japanese diversified corporate group ORIX Corp (TYO:8591), will deliver more than 400,000 MWh of green power annually to the wireless telecoms infrastructure operator and certify that the power is sourced from its renewable energy assets. The company will meet its commitment under the contract with electricity from one of its wind projects and from three solar photovoltaic (PV) schemes, details about which were not provided in the press statement.
