Nordex to supply 6.8-MW turbines for 68-MW German wind project
Sep 18, 2024 9:08 CESTGerman electrolyser maker Sunfire GmbH said today that it has decided to spin off its fuel cell business into an independent company so as to focus entirely on its core operations.
The former Sunfire Fuel Cells GmbH in Neubrandenburg will be taken over by its founder and current managing director, Matthias Boltze. The business will continue with its original name -- new enerday.

New enerday was founded in 2010. Sunfire acquired the business in the autumn of 2018 and rebranded it the following year. The unit specialises in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC).
“By restructuring our corporate framework, both sides can develop their organizations more effectively to tackle the challenges of their respective markets,” Sunfire’s CEO Nils Aldag said.
