German electric utility EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (ETR:EBK) has secured seven solar parks in Germany with a combined capacity of 184 MW in the latest open-field solar auction in the country.

Five projects are planned across the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, specifically in Langenburg, Mulfingen, Adelsheim, Geislingen-Erlaheim and Sigmaringen-Gutenstein. One project is located in Lauenhagen, in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and another one will be built in Goerlsdorf, Brandenburg.

“Despite the high demand, we were able to secure all the targeted areas with our bids – even though the tender was almost twice oversubscribed,” Harald Schmoch, head of renewable energies at EnBW, noted in a press statement on Wednesday.

EnBW currently owns and operates more than 41 solar parks with an installed output of 760 MW. In Baden-Württemberg alone, the company has an installed capacity of 173 MW spread across 26 sites.
