Sweden installs 460 MW of solar in H1, down from 2023 boom
Sep 03, 2024 14:52 CESTGerman wind and solar parks operator Encavis AG (ETR:ECV) announced today that it has connected to the grid a 14-MWp solar park in southern Sweden.
Spanning 28 hectares and located in the province of Smaland, the site will now generate 15 GWh of green electricity annually, enough to power 755 local homes, the German firm noted in a social media post.
The Morghult plant was realised in partnership with Norwegian solar developer Solgrid. Solkompaniet acted as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
The project is part of Encavis’ goal to develop more than 100 MWp of solar capacity in Sweden in the coming years.
