Spanish utility Endesa SA (BME:ELE) said on Wednesday it has expanded its energy supply agreement with hotel chain Barcelo Hotel Group, now covering 107 GWh of electricity per year.

The power supply agreed is equivalent to the annual demand of over 30,600 homes. Through this deal, Endesa will help Barcelo's Spanish branches to avoid more than 26,750 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.

With this contract, both companies have strengthened their commitment to a just energy transition, the fight against climate change and the fulfilment of the sustainable development goals (SDG), Endesa noted.
