Renewable energy producer Enefit Green AS (TAL:EGR1T) has awarded the general construction contract for the 38-turbine Sopi-Tootsi wind farm in Estonia’s Pohja-Parnumaa municipality.

To be more specific, the company has hired Nordecon Betoon OU and Verston OU to handle the construction process. The contract is valued at around EUR 67.3 million (USD 70.7m) and should be executed by the end of next year.

The company has reached the final investment decision on this project after securing EUR 325 million in loans from two banks. In addition to Sopi-Tootsi, the Kelme I and Tolpanvaara projects in Lithuania and Finland, respectively, will also benefit from the financing.

In all, Enefit has taken FIDs on six wind farms and four solar parks totalling 596 MW in Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Finland, it said last week.
