KKR fund increases tender offer price for Greenvolt
Sep 19, 2024 15:32 CESTItalian utility Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) generated 32,703 GWh of renewable power from its assets worldwide during the first quarter of 2024, increasing production by 9.2% year-on-year, the group said in its quarterly energy report on Monday.
Renewable power production rose the most in Italy and Iberia, by 34.1% and 27.3%, respectively, thanks to a significantly higher output from hydro and solar compared to the year-ago period.
Enel’s Latin America market produced 8.2% more year-on-year, while North America saw a slight decline of 0.5%.
In the Africa, Asia and Oceania market, renewables production dropped by 41.4%, explained by a reduction of the installed capacity. Enel previously said that it had transferred around 1 GW from consolidated to managed capacity this market following transactions in India and Australia.
The first quarter witnessed the installation of 410 MW of new capacity, pushing Enel’s renewables total to 55,793 MW of hydro, onshore wind, geothermal, and a category known as solar & others, by the end of the reporting period.
The installed battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity, reported separately from renewables, stood at 1,618 MW at the end from March, marking a growth of 136.1% year-on-year.
Selected figures from Enel’s first-quarter bulletin are presented in the table:
TECHNOLOGY: | Global production in Q1 2024 (in GWh) | y/y change: | Installed capacity at end-Q1 2024 | y/y change: |
Hydro | 16,323 | 20.6% | 28,337 MW | -- |
Wind | 11,175 | -5.7% | 15,853 MW | -0.1% |
