Colombia's ANLA gets mandate to license renewables starting at 50 MW
Sep 17, 2024 12:44 CESTEnel Colombia announced on Tuesday that it has inaugurated the 187-MW La Loma solar farm in the Colombian department of Cesar.
According to the utility, La Loma is the largest solar farm in Colombia, and the largest contributor of solar power to the national grid.
The USD-126-million (EUR 116.9m) project installed over 400,000 solar panels, enabling the plant to generate around 420 GWh of electricity per year. La Loma produced around 10% of the country's solar power last month, Enel Colombia said.
La Loma joins Enel Colombia’s previous solar project in Cesar -- the El Paso. This 86.2-MW solar farm is currently being expanded to reach an installed capacity of 99.9 MWdc, the utility added.
