Enel Green Power hooks to grid 6.5 MW solar park in Romania

Italy's Enel Green Power said on Monday it has connected to the grid a 6.5 megawatt (MW) solar park in southern Romania, raising its solar capacity in the country to 26 MW.

The Colibasi photovoltaic plant, located in the county of Giurgiu, will have an annual output of 8.0 million kilowatt hours, enough to meet the electricity needs of 7.0 million households, Enel Green Power said in a statement.

This is the company's third photovoltaic plant in Romania. The first two, Berceni 1 and Berceni 2, were hooked to the grid in July.

The Italian company also has 498 MW of installed wind capacity in Romania.

Enel Green Power, the Enel Group unit in charge of the development and management of renewable energy sources at international level, has over 700 operational plants in 16 countries in Europe and the Americas.
