Enel Green Power Invests 330 Mln Euro in Romania in 2011

BUCHAREST (Romania), March 6 (SeeNews) – Enel Green Power, part of Italy’s Enel Group, said on Tuesday it invested 330 million euro ($433 million) in wind farms in Romania last year, sharply up from 75 million euro in 2010.

"In Europe, capital expenditure primarily regarded the construction of wind farms in Romania, Greece and France as well as photovoltaic plants in Greece," Enel said in a statement after its board approved the company's results for 2011.

Enel Green Power said it put into service wind farms with combined capacity of 250 megawatts (MW) in Romania in 2011.

In December, the company put into operation its 70 MW Corugea wind farm in Romania and the first 25 MW of its 48 MW Moldova Noua wind farm.

With the completion of the Moldova Noua plant, Enel Green Power’s total installed capacity in the country will rise to 292 MW, the company said.

Enel Green Power added it paid success fees of 38 million euro last year in respect of projects acquired in Romania.
