Germany’s Enercon GmbH said that it has signed an agreement with joint venture company Enerjisa Uretim to deliver the final batch of its wind turbines for a 1,000-MW wind power project in Turkey.

The agreement encompasses the delivery of 250 MW of Enercon’s turbines to complete the second phase of the Renewable Energy Resources Zone (YEKA) 2 wind project. This phase will use 60 pieces of the E-138 EP3 E2 turbines, Enercon said.

The German wind turbine maker is currently manufacturing 750 MW for the first phase of YEKA 2.

Enerjisa Uretim, a joint venture between German energy major E.ON SE (ETR:EOAN) and Turkey’s Sabanci Holding (IST:SAHOL), secured 500 MW in the YEKA RES 2 tender, while Enercon won the other 500 MW.

The roles are divided so that Enerjisa Uretim acts as the investor and operator of the project, while Enercon manufactures and supplies the wind turbines.
