German wind and solar developer Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKT) said on Friday that it received in August permits to build three wind parks with a combined capacity of around 116 MW in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Most of the wind parks are expected to participate in the next EEG tender managed by the Federal Network Agency and designed to allocate subsidies for renewable energy projects.

Energiekontor added that it is also preparing to reach financial close for several wind and solar projects. As a result, the company is set to soon begin the construction of renewable energy facilities with a total generation capacity of over 100 MW.

With the latest approvals, Energiekontor has secured a total of 36 building permits for wind and solar park projects in Germany, Scotland and France with a combined nominal power of around 1.2 GW, CEO Peter Szabo noted in the statement.

Since its establishment, Energiekontor has realised over 160 wind and solar projects with a total capacity of 1.4 GW. The generated electricity is sufficient to meet the needs of about 810,000 German households, saving around 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, the company added.
