Israeli independent power producer Energix Renewables Energy Ltd (TASE:ENRG) has ordered 5 GW DC of First Solar Inc’s (NASDAQ:FSLR) thin-film modules for projects in Israel, Poland and the US.

The photovoltaics (PV) maker announced the framework agreement with its client’s Arlington, Virginia-based unit Energix Renewables on Sunday. The contract follows previous orders for 3.5 GW DC of First Solar products placed by the Israeli group since 2017, making it the biggest customer of the PV manufacturer.

The latest deal calls for First Solar to deliver the contracted volume of modules between 2026 and 2030. Additionally, the PV product maker’s First Solar Recycling Services has been hired to manage end-of-life handling of decommissioned modules.

“This deal, our largest ever, strongly reflects the long-term strategic partnership we share with First Solar. It also constitutes a significant milestone for Energix's long-term growth, as we rapidly expand our global pipeline, with an emphasis on the United States,” said Asa (Asi) Levinger, CEO of Energix.

At present, Energix has more than 7 GW of projects under development in Israel, Poland and the US. Last month, its US arm secured USD 520 million (EUR 463.2m) to finance six utility-scale solar projects in the US totalling 416 MW DC.
