Automotive technology and engineering services provider Benteler Group has committed to buying green power from a 37-MW solar park to be installed by renewable energy producer Enery Development GmbH in the Czech Republic.

The procurement will be carried out under a 10-year physical power purchase agreement (PPA), Vienna-based Enery said on Thursday. Under the arrangement, the company will install a photovoltaic (PV) park in the municipality of Dynin, South Bohemia region, to supply with electricity Benteler’s Czech unit.

The PPA, which is Enery’s first one in the Czech Republic, will support Benteler’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy and its efforts to cut its Scope 1 and 2 carbon dioxide emissions.

Specific details about the solar project were not available.

Backed by a significant ownership stake from the Three Seas Initiative investment fund, Enery has a portfolio of 312 MW of green energy assets. The company has ongoing development projects totalling over 8 GW.
