US renewables developer and operator Enfinity Global Inc today announced the closing of a USD-164-million (EUR 151.6m) financing transaction for 250 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) assets in Japan.

Enfinity obtained the funding in partnership with Macquarie Capital, the investment division of Macquarie Group, and a syndicate led by Shinhan Asset Management.

With an enterprise value of over USD 1 billion, the portfolio that benefits from the financing includes seven operating utility-scale solar plants and one project under construction. It is expected to generate more than 300 GWh of power a year, enough to supply 60,000 Japanese homes.

At present, Enfinity owns 24.1 GW of renewable energy and storage assets, including plants in operation, under construction, and in different stages of development. The company has offices across the US, Europe, Japan, and India.
