ABP presents plan to turn Port of Barrow into renewables hub
Sep 18, 2024 14:41 CESTItalian oil and gas major Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) and Ireland-based wind and solar developer Mainstream Renewable Power said Wednesday they will jointly participate in the UK’s Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4.
The pair unveiled their offshore ambitions as they announced a cooperation agreement on the development of large-scale renewable assets in markets both companies consider strategically important. Their collaboration starts with plans in the UK, but will also cover potential developments of renewables in countries across Africa and Southeast Asia.
The news comes a week after The Crown Estate announced the launch of the Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4 which paves the way for the potential development of at least 7 GW of new wind in waters around England and Wales. The tender process will be initiated next month and will take about 12 months to complete.
