Germany awards 2.7 GW in onshore wind tender amid record interest
Sep 17, 2024 15:16 CESTGerman firm Eno Energy GmbH has agreed to sell an 18-MW wind farm in the German federal state of Thuringia to municipal utility Stadtwerke Heidenheim as part of efforts to optimise its portfolio.
The turnkey project consists of three eno152-5.6 wind turbines in the 6-MW class with a hub height of 165 metres, Eno Energy said on Thursday. The wind farm is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. It will supply electricity to around 16,000 households.
Eno Energy said that it will also carry out plant services and technical operations management for Stadtwerke Heidenheim.
For the utility, the deal represents another step toward securing electricity production from renewable energy. According to the statement, Stadtwerke Heidenheim continuously invests in the expansion of renewable energy, contributing to reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
