EnterSolar starts work on 200-kW solar array for Dykes Lumber in NYC

Oct 16, 2012 - US solar system provider EnterSolar said Monday that construction had commenced of a 200-kW rooftop solar facility in New York City (NYC) for Dykes Lumber Co.

This is the third solar array installed by EnterSolar for Dykes. The total capacity of the three photovoltaic (PV) facilities is more than 750 kW.

The 200-kW solar system at the lumber company's Long Island facility is to be supported by a portion of EnterSolar's grant under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's Competitive PV Program. The project will also take advantage of the NYC property tax abatement and the NY-Sun Initiative.

Under the "Remote Net-Metering" programme of local utility ConEdison, excess power produced by the new solar system can be credited to other Dykes locations in NYC.
