EnterSolar wraps up 325.5-kW solar system in Connecticut

Feb 5, 2013 - US solar system developer EnterSolar has completed a 325.5-kW rooftop solar project in Connecticut for Mercantile Development Inc, the US industrial wipers maker said yesterday.

The solar facility, installed on top of the company's manufacturing facility in Shelton, will have an annual output of 400,000 kWh, enough to meet over three-quarters of Mercantile Development's annual power consumption. The system comprises more than 1,300 solar modules.

The project was one of the first to take advantage of Connecticut's Zero Emission Renewable Energy Credit (ZREC) Program. Under the scheme, projects can sell their renewable energy credits (RECs) to power utilities in the state under long-term, 15-year contracts.
