Deutsche Windtechnik wins turbines maintenance contract in Sweden
Sep 19, 2024 14:55 CESTGerman utility E.on SE (ETR:EOAN) announced on Monday the start of work of new Market Operations teams in Germany, the UK and Sweden, which will focus on transactions on wholesale energy markets and balancing markets.
The new procurement and marketing function has been established at the start of July. The company’s former energy trading business was transferred to Uniper, the independent conventional energy business that was spun off in September 2016.
E.on said its Market Operations teams in each country will have about 20 experts, mainly responsible for the purchasing of power and gas for customers and the sale of production from renewable energy sources, including green certificates.
“Also, we will concentrate more on the marketing and optimization of flexibilities created by the growing integration of our customers’ decentral generation and storage capacities,” said Sven Otten, senior VP Energy Management.
Currently, E.on is doing business again on the energy wholesale markets in Germany, the UK and Sweden, and it has also entered the Hungarian and Czech markets. It is planning a market entry in Italy at the start of 2018.
