PNE wins 24 MW of onshore wind projects in German auction
Sep 19, 2024 8:35 CESTSep 19, 2013 - German multi-utility group E.on (ETR:EOAN) will launch a new eco-friendly gas product from next month.
The product, called E.on WindGas, contains a 10% share of hydrogen, which has been derived from wind power.
To transform the wind power into hydrogen, E.on will use its power-to-gas technology, which is meant to be used for renewable energy storage. The company launched a pilot plant based on the technology in the state of Brandenburg in the middle of this year. The transformation of wind power into hydrogen enables E.on to feed the power into the gas grid and thus to store it.
Target group for the new product are mainly private households and its price, according to E.on, will be close to similar eco-friendly natural gas products.
