Equatorial Energia's 350-MW solar complex now operational in Brazil Solar PV plant in Brazil

Brazilian energy company Equatorial Energia SA (BVMF: EQTL3) has announced that its 350-MW Barreiras I Photovoltaic (PV) plant in northeast Brazil reached full commercial operation on July 27.

The solar complex features 726,000 solar panels, covering an area of more than 800 hectares (1,976.94 acres) in the municipality of Barreiras, Bahia state.

"With the completion of this project, Equatorial has a total of 573 MW of installed capacity at the Ribeiro Gonçalves (PI) and Barreiras (BA) solar plants and totals 1.8 GW of installed capacity in its wind and solar portfolio," the energy company said in a notice to the market.
