The project, awarded by the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water, will have a duration of two years. It envisages the development of an initial map using mesoscale techniques as well as the preparation of a final version following weather stations measurement.
Ereda won the contract at a tender, defeating 20 international companies.
The Spanish firm set foot in Angola in 2008, when it executed studies for the electrification of the Baia dos Tigres island with a 100% renewable energy system.
Ereda has so far elaborated wind and solar resources maps of several Spanish autonomous regions, as well as in Ukraine, Romania, Bosnia, Croatia, Russia, Chile and Brazil.
