Estonia's Enefit completes one wind project, starts another
Sep 06, 2024 10:27 CESTTen applications from four different parties in total have been submitted to take part in auctions in Estonia for the right to build offshore wind farms in three areas.
The country’s Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (CPTRA) announced this on Tuesday, saying that it is now supposed to check the compliance of all applications before seeking feedback from state authorities.
More specifically, Estonia Offshore Wind DevCo OU, Deep Wind Offshore AS and OU Utilitas Wind are competing for the areas Saare 2.1, Saare 2.2 and Saare 3. The last area has also drawn an application from Sunly Wind OU.
The CPTRA expects the auctions for all three areas to take place in June 2024. The table below gives details about each area and its starting price.
Area | Size | Starting price |
Saare 2.1 | 163.8 sq km | EUR 2.46 million |
Saare 2.2 | 88.5 sq km | EUR 1.33 million |
Saare 3 | 20.1 sq km | EUR 301,500 |
(EUR 1.0 = USD 1.077)
