Estonia's Enefit completes one wind project, starts another
Sep 06, 2024 10:27 CESTEstonian renewables developer Enefit Green AS (TAL:EGR1T) is prohibited by court order to raise turbines more powerful than 3 MW at its Purtse wind farm in Estonia.
The company said on Tuesday that Viru County Court had accepted a claim by entity Eesti Uhistuenergia OU against its subsidiary Enefit Wind Purtse AS requesting that turbines of no more than 3 MW could be erected at the site.
Enerfit took the final investment decision on the 21-MW Purtse project earlier this year with plans to install five turbines of 4.2 MW each. On Tuesday, the firm said the court granted the claimant’s application for interim relief and prohibited the installation of 3-MW-plus machines.
“The Management Board of Enefit Green is of the opinion that it has acted lawfully in the construction of the Purtse wind farm and intends to object the claim and challenge the interim relief order,” Enefit Green said in a brief announcement.
The Purtse wind farm is currently under construction. It was supposed to start operation in 2023, according to Enefit Green’s plans.
