ET Solar supplies 5 MW of PV modules for mine in Suriname

Oct 21, 2014 - Chinese solar products maker ET Solar said on Monday it had supplied 5 MW of polycrystalline photovoltaic (PV) modules for a mining operation in Suriname.

The value of the contract was not given.

The delivery, which is ET Solar's first one for a mining customer in South America, will help minimise the energy cost and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of the mine. The company is studying several other opportunities with mining customers in the region for off-grid hybrid systems, Dennis She, president and CEO, said in a statement.

ET Solar has more than 300 MW of PV plants worldwide and over 3 GW of modules installed. Last week the company announced the construction of an 8.7-MWp ground-mounted PV plant for Lightsource Renewable Energy Ltd in England.
