Sep 09, 2024 14:06 CESTAug 8, 2011 - Ethanol prices in Brazil grew by 4.01% in July, the IPCA consumer price index, released on Friday by the country's Institute for Geography and Statistics IBGE, showed.
In the period from the beginning of the year to the end of July, ethanol prices have risen by 10.19%.
The price of petrol (gasoline), measured by IPCA, in turn, inched up 0.15% in the last month and has accumulated an increase of 6.3% from January to July.
In the 12 months to July, the value of ethanol swelled 32.72% and that of gasoline -- 9.31%, IBGE's data also showed.
In general, fuels were 0.47% more expensive in July. For the first six months of 2011, a growth of 6.48% was registered, and for the 12 months -- of 10.73%.
