UK solar and storage specialist Ethical Power has secured a contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a pair of solar projects totalling 9 MW in southern Spain.

The contract was awarded by Finnish renewables investor Korkia, which acquired the projects at ready-to-build stage from UK developer Hive Energy in October 2023. Ethical Power said it had been selected as the preferred contractor based on its solar farm construction expertise and the technical knowledge of the sites stemming from its prior relationship with Hive Energy.

The two solar farms will be located next to each other at a site in Malaga province.

“We are pleased to be starting our first projects with Korkia,” said David Martinez, Ethical Power Spain’s Country Manager. “We will begin the preliminary works on site in March, in line with Korkia Solar Energy Fund’s ambitious delivery strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for us to further showcase our EPC capability as Ethical Power Spain and we hope it’s the beginning of a successful partnership with Korkia.”
