UK solar and storage specialist Ethical Power said that it has secured a contract to provide EPC services for the 55-MWp Fundici solar farm project in the south of Spain.

The firm is part of UK renewables developer Hive Energy, which worked on the project before selling it shovel-ready to Germany’s Encavis AG (ETR:ECV) in November 2022.

Strictly speaking, the EPC contract was awarded to Ethical Power’s Spanish unit, which was established earlier this year.

Ethical Power Spain SL will start preliminary works at the site in Seville province in the first quarter of 2023. Construction is slated for mid-2023.

The Fundici solar farm will be equipped with the new N-type modules. Ethical Power said it decided to use them due to their high efficiency and low degradation rates.

“We are pleased to have finalised the EPC agreement with Encavis AG and keen to break ground on our first project in Spain for them. The Spanish renewables market is one of the fastest growing in Europe, especially for solar power and Ethical Power is set to make its mark in the region,” commented Ethical Power CEO Tom Kneen.

Fundici is the first EPC work for Ethical Power Spain. The office has already secured a pipeline of 200 MW of solar and battery projects for development and construction in 2023, Ethical Power added.
