Danish renewables developer-operator Eurowind Energy A/S intends to build projects that will add almost 1 GW of power generation capacity over the next two years as it aims to gain a further foothold in the European market.

The plan, detailed by the company on Tuesday, calls for building up to 50 new power plants in core markets such as Germany, Romania and Poland. Several projects are also planned to be executed in Southern Europe.

Eurowind, which is currently working on the construction of over 10 projects across Europe, said it will bet on a range technologies for the new projects, often combining several ones in hybrid power plants. The list of technologies includes wind turbine generation, solar power, battery energy storage, electrolysis and biogas capacity.

The Danish firm has already entered strategic collaborations with selected suppliers for the proposed projects. It expects each of the new energy parks to be installed within 12-18 months.
