Danish renewables developer-operator Eurowind Energy announced on Wednesday that it has applied for an environmental permit to build a wind farm with a capacity of no less than 72 MW in Sweden.

Paperwork on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was done with the assistance of engineering consultancy Sweco and law firm Setterwalls, the Danish firm said in a social media post.

The Liasjon project is planned to be built in the municipality of Osby, comprising 10 turbines of 270-metres (885 ft) in height. Once operational, the site will produce 225 GWh of clean electricity annually to meet the power needs of more than 11,000 homes.

Eurowind held consultations with local authorities and interested parties in the spring of 2023. About 67% of the residents in Osby have expressed a positive opinion on the environmental review of the proposed site.
