Denmark-based green hydrogen specialist Everfuel A/S (FRA:0HR) has set up partnerships to develop the market for hydrogen-fuelled taxis in the Nordic region.

The company said on Wednesday that it has entered into a cooperation agreement with Nordic taxi operator Cabonline to support the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) by taxi drivers. As part of the agreement, Cabonline will incentivise its own taxi licence holders to use FCVs, while Everfuel will offer a discount for hydrogen fuel at its filling stations to those who take part in the programme.

Everfuel and Cabonline also initiated a collaboration with vehicle distributor Toyota Norway, which will support the programme by offering new Toyota Mirai FCVs to taxi licence holders.

Toyota Norway will initially roll out up to 100 Mirai taxis in Oslo by the end of 2022. The number of Mirai taxis will increase as the initiative expands to other large cities in Norway and Everfuel adds more hydrogen stations to its network.

Everfuel and Cabonline plan to take the same cooperation model to other cities in the Nordic region, the hydrogen supplier said.
