Fiba Group unit eyes EBRD loan for 75 MW of new solar in Turkey
Sep 17, 2024 15:21 CESTISTANBUL (Turkey), November 27 (SeeNews) – Finnish industrial group Metso Corp said on Thursday it has received an order to supply flow control technology to Turkish energy group Zorlu Enerji [BIST:ZOREN] for a 45 megawatt (MW) geothermal power plant in western Turkey.
Metso will deliver control and on-off valves that will play a significant role in extracting geothermal energy, it said in a statement. The company will also provide site services and spares.
Zorly Enerji is building the geothermal plant in the province of Manisa’s Alasehir district. The plant is scheduled to start commercial operation in October 2015 and to produce power for the national grid. The company has a licence to operate the Manisa-Alasehir geothermal area until 2040. This is the first geothermal plant to be set up in the area.
Zorlu Enerji, part of Turkish conglomerate Zorlu Holding, owns and operates 500 MW of thermal, 115 MW of hydropower, 95 MW of geothermal and 135 MW of wind power plants in Turkey, Metso added.
