Australia’s Atmos Renewables has been contracted by US energy storage specialist Fluence Energy Inc (NASDAQ:FLNC) to deliver optimisation services to 870 MW of wind and solar assets in Australia.

Fluence, the energy storage specialist jointly owned by Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) and AES Corp (NYSE:AES), has expanded an existing contract with Atmos, the latter said in a press release. Specifically, the Sydney-based company will deploy Fluence Nispera asset performance management (APM) software to optimise the performance of the portfolio, including through loss breakdown analysis and real-time tracking of production losses from grid constraints.

The assets covered by the deal operate in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM). They already use the Fluence Mosaic AI-powered bidding software that enhances asset market trading.

“Automated monitoring of grid curtailment in near real-time provides a more accurate view of asset performance potential, allows us to take swift, practical action, and saves our asset management team the time that was previously spent collecting and analysing this information manually,’’ said Jason Porter, general manager operations at Atmos.
