Iberdrola inaugurates 496-MW Saint-Brieuc wind farm offshore France
Sep 19, 2024 16:25 CESTForeign investors have appetite for Armenia’s upcoming tender for solar capacity in the province of Gegharkunik, says Tamara Babayan, Director at Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund (R2E2).
The tender for 50 MW of capacity near the village of Masrik is to be launched this year. In December the fund launched a request for expressions of interest (EoI) for consulting services in the preparation of the competitive process.
The Arka News Agency cited Babayan as saying that all international companies that attended the Energy Week in Yerevan, which ran on January 25-27, are interested in the tender for the construction of the country’s first large solar power plant. The renewable energy event last week attracted visitors from over 40 countries, according to the report.
Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, Hayk Harutyunyan, said in November that investors from Iran, Italy, Spain, China, Poland and Georgia have shown interest in wind projects in Armenia.
